    Default Gas Boycott

Hey! These gas prices are outrageous!
I propose a fairly massive boycott from EOFF. Here's thte plan: AVOID USING CARS. Bike, Run, Walk,ETC. Do what you can to minimally consume it. If we work together and spred the word to others, it might help.

First off it's kinda too little too late. We're gonna run out of gas eventually. It's inevitable. So then my second point has to be yeah... you'd only be delaying the inevitable. I say eat it up. It'll get those nifty hybrid and electric cars and such out on the market and more affordable faster when the need for them increases to a suitable drastic amount.

The prices here around my college have jumped to $3.40 and the lines to get gas are insanely long.

So far the rumor is that at 4:00pm they are shutting off the gas pumps for 2 days in Georgia.

Sure. Then, we can boycott oxygen, water, and food.

I am boycotting gas and have been forever. I take all of it I can and burn it in my engine as an extreme demonstration agains the oil industry!

I already do that. I drive my car to my dad's house and back once or twice a month but that's about it.

Um, why? If the gas prices are so outrageous, get a smaller car. When I get my first car, I'm getting a tiny little Mitsubishi Spider or a Punch Buggy so I don't have to spend millions on gas. They've only gone so extremely high this week because of Katrina. They had to close down the oil places on the water because of that, so it went up a good 30 cents.

Though I do encourage walking and riding bikes more. Walking is marvelous exercise and very fun.

You could get a smaller car and still buy gas, or you could... adjust your lifestyle so that you don't have a need for more than a small amount of gas. Reducing consumption is always a good thing.

Yeah, that's true. Using the bus is cheap and walking and bike riding is free, so it's good to do that more often. I'm lucky, I live in a tiny little suburban town. I won't need my car that much when I first get it as everything is very close.

I am not walking three miles up a mountain in 90 degree weather after school with my math book.

And amy, who I drive to school, might also complain about this.

I drive a small car already (chevy cavalier) but thanks to school being just three miles away, it only gets about 20 mpg.

It won't work. Gas prices will only increase from here. The demand for it is increasing drastically, while the supply is descreasing. To hell with boycotting gas, just stop using it all together.

Considering my job depends on driving... It isn't gonna happen. Sorry.

I think boycotting hurricanes would be far more effective.
