Search and Auction house unavailable?

So I wake up this morning, and after a great breakfast, turn on the PC, and shortly thereafter open up the POL viewer. I log in, go to games, FFXI, and... There is a revolving message atop the viewer.

"Currently both Search and Auction House are unavailable."

What sort of untold chaos could this bring if it isn't solved soon? Discuss. o_o

It's happened before.

For me this just means I can't buy what I need so I won't be able to party effeciently until this is fixed.

That happened to me a few times before that massive update we had a little while back. It made finding parties a huge pain in the ass and people just started to seek in /sh. It was kinda funny.

well i couldnt even log on that day because when i tried to log on something had happened to the lobby server so u guys are lucky

Actually the DDoS attacks didn't stop. S-E is finding ways to minimize it.
