Thread: Administrative privileges

    Default Administrative privileges

    I'm a new user of Final Fantasy Online. My computer's administrator installed the game, but I cannot get it to run because I don't have administrative privileges. Is there any way around this problem?

    Do you mean Final Fantasy XI?

    Your administrator should be able to grant you access rights. I don't have much experience with XP's permissions system, but I don't think it should be too difficult to do.

    Tell him to try that:

    1) Click START->ALL PROGRAMS->ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS->LOCAL SECURITY POLICY. -
    This will open the Local Security Settings screen.
    2) Click the + next to LOCAL POLICIES and you should see USER RIGHTS
    ASSIGNMENT. - Click to highlight this and on the right-hand screen you
    should see a long list of items. One of these items should be INCREASE
    SCHEDULING PRIORITY.
    3) Right-click on this and choose PROPERTIES. This should open the Increase
    Scheduling Priority Properties screen.
    4) Click the ADD USER OR GROUP button to add the account of the Power User.

    Edit: it means he needs to put you in the power user group, too, if it's not the case yet. Otherwise replace 4) so that he adds your account.

    And then there is Death

    Take a screenshot of the groups screen? Don't forget it's the admin who must do that.
