ff2 NPCs

Does this game have any cool NPCs? Fun villagers? The Bikke the Pirate analogue?

It has the first Cid ever, and Bikke's analog is Leila who isn't an NPC, but she does attack you with pirates. After you beat them she joins you and you give her your ship.

FFII isn't much for charismatic NPCs since almost every character they decided to give personality joins the party at some point. The extreme exception is Paul.

Paul isn't a ninja, he's a thief. He even refers to himself as a thief and nobody calls him a ninja. They just used a ninja sprite in the FC version because they were feeling lazy.
