Contrary to this, in The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D, Lava girl, is in fact, volcanic. And Shark boy probably has more to do with water than she.

There's an old joke about the Wonder Twins where the guy always ends up turning into something made of water. And I really should be shot for remembering that. Not fatally, just in the foot, but still....
And don't forget the bad guys. Spiderman's only aquatic enemy is male. Then again, Spidey doesn't have a lot of female opponenets, for some reason... actually, are there ANY female baddies with water abilities? Anywhere?!?
