Major did a lot but not enough, not his fault, just disn;t have time. Mo Molem changed everything here, importantly how Catholics viewed British Politicians who were previously aloof & hands-off. She was a good woman who didn't get the praise she deserved.

On topic, if my memory serves me right both Cook & Mohlem went through a nasty Blair divorce. Perhaps Tony felt their families wouldn't appreciate his presence. And as has been said by my usual opponent on political views, he is indeed a busy man with little time off. There's reasons we are not made aware of for things.

just for the record, this is a world event, albeit somewhat small, and fits perfectly well into this forum.

Also, I suspect Cuchulainn is correct in this instance, although perhaps a low-key presence at the funerals (if that's even possible for a PM) would have been more noble.

Why should he have to drop his vacation just for a funeral? It shouldn't be required, and when it comes to Blaire as a politician, it shouldn't even be considered.

it's just a sign of respect for great politicians that served his party for many years and where loved by the public for standing up.

and why shouldn't it be considered?
