    Default the cost of life?

yes it's another de menesez thread. get over it.

today it was discovered that the police have offered de menesez's poor brazilian family compensation for killing there innocent son. to remind you police shot de menesez when he was unarmed, doing nothing suspicious, with no sign of weaponry. he was sitting on a train when armed plain clothed police grabbed and shot him at point blank range without warning.

the cost for killing him? £15,000. de menesez was an electrician and could have been earning double that in a year.

£15,000 for the slaughter of an innocent man? is this a joke? human life when stripped away like should be worth more than a car.

Yes, I definatley think that it is an insult of a price for them to pay. It was a horible accident either way you look at it, and although it could not be avoided, it is still nice to see them making a step towards the right direction.

Well...according to the Met., but I don't know what kind of warped strategy they were employing by following him from his house to the station, and only THEN when he was 'endangering' innocent life decide to challenge him.
As for the compensation, I wouldn't even want it if I was the De Menesez family. It's good blood on it.
