User Note moderation

Ok, I'm putting on my serious face right now

Do you guys moderate user notes, in a since about how much, "spam" forsay is posted in there. Like if someone posts 10+ posts back-to-back, do you care? I was under the impression that the user notes were just to mess around, for our use, so long as such extremes like porn wasnt posted in them, but pretty much anything else goes.

For the record, I could care less about what mods read in my user notes

Basically, don't be obnoxious, guys. Spammy notes are fine. Notes that include more than 1000 smilies and crash some people's browsers are not fine. Double and triple posts are fine. 10 straight posts of the exact same message is not fine. This usergroup is in place only to get rid of extreme abuse.

You are supposed to keep to the rules of the board in User Notes. Obviously there are no topics, so spam rules are relaxed a bit, but profaity, flaming, and adult material should be kept out of it. 10 posts in a row of nothing but smileys is pushing it and can get your user note posting priviledges taken away.

I don't moderate user notes, and I can't speak for the rest of staff, but I generally don't mind spam as long as it's tasteful. That said, fifty back-to-back posts will get you a warn.

Should a user complain about the user notes in such cases for spam to recieve moderation, but if not, they wont recieve any? (I'm not talking about myself)

Yes. There are way too many user notes for us to stay on top of at all times.

The last like 20 usernotes in my profile, half the people were saying how I only have a tiny bit of usernotes and I have like 160, that is a ton o_o So I dunno what people are on about. XD I hardly ever post in usernotes, though....

We cannot read every usernote in every profile. If you see any example of abuse, bring it to the attention of a staff member and we'll take action if action is needed.

Yes, please complain. I do get around quite a bit, when it comes to usernotes ;D, but I don't visit everyone's obviously. That said, I haven't come across any that have been "offensive." I'm on the lookout.

If I see someone excessively spamming in usernotes, I sometimes run an SQL query to delete all the notes they've ever made

Usernotes we're all fun and games until BoB found out that Psychotic was having fun with them. After that, it's all been going downhill.
