Rock vs Rap

I used to sort of like rap, but that stopped awhile ago, and now all I listen to is rock because I'm close-minded.

I despise rap and love rock. Rap to me is just unpleasant noise, not music. But that's just me.

some rap is okay, as long as it's not the same slow beat as every other song.

that's why i prefer Eminem & Luda. i need some form of melody or else it all becomes crap for me.

I personally like a bit of everything, but im very fond of rap, seein as me fav singer/rapper is Eminem.
Don't ask me why but it definately isn't the looks, me boyfriend is nicer lol

You could say exactly the same thing about screaming vocalists in Rock music, that's the point, it's all subjective.

Some people LIKE that part of rap, though not every song is like that.

What one person considers good, another may not, it's as simple as that, you can't brand one type of music as good and one as bad, and you can most definitely not say that rap isn't music.

Funny thing is, I don't even like most rap artists, but for the most part, I respect them for what they do.

Rock by far. I find Rap tedious and annoying. But i do like Rap IN rock music eg: Linkin Park, P.O.D., Papa Roach etc (these are more metal but still part of the rock genre)

One day, rock will only be a sliver, rap will be huge and past it's use by date, and a new type of music SHOULD be coming out from an early 20 years of smalltownism and start spreading - which is when the question will be asked if you prefer that or rap.

I like rap - it's my favourite genre of music - that and hip hop. That doesn't mean I like to listen to lyrics that contain the word bitch and yo gangsta every second line, nor does it mean that I must love all rap music videos with booty shaking girls in bikinis.

I respect the talents rappers have. I respect and really love rap artists such as Outkast, Eminem and Ja Rule. But just because I like a song by a rap artist, doesn't mean I like every song. Like Busta Rhymes - I love the beat of his song 'I know what you want', but I don't know any of his other songs.

Me liking rap doesn't mean I don't appreciate music from other genres - I have favourite music artists from other genres. Rap and hip hop are just the main songs that gets me going, or the songs that I enjoy.
