FF8 sequels.
i just went on FFgurus.net and on it there is an amazing fanfic called unfinished buisness which is a sequel to FF8.it is amazing and a sequel worthy of FF8.so i was wonderin if anyone knows anymore FF8 fanfics,prequels or sequels?
also in section thirty of the story there is a bit about ultimecia which is a great way for her to come into being but is there a proper theory to how ultimecia became a sorceress and used time compression in the game?thanx in advance!!!

There are a variety of theories concerning the origins of Ultimecia, ranging from the now hackneyed R=U supposition, to even more wildly improbable guesses, to very simple suggestions. That being said, it's entirely possible that Square intended for Ultimecia's origins to be veiled in mystery. Given the "fairy tale" motif evident in FFVIII (as suggested by an in-game vocabulary rife with Knights, Witches, and the like), Ultimecia may have been meant to mirror the many fairy tale villains with little appreciable background and/or motive. That being said, I personally feel that Ultimecia's motivations might have been more complex than they appeared. Likewise, it would certainly be possible to develop a complex backstory for the character (assuming that such a backstory does not already exist somwhere beyond the scope of the general public). Such issues might be touched upon in the Ultimania, but unfortunately I'm not overly familiar with that guide.
Ultimately, FFVIII itself offers no clear background for Ultimecia. That she is a Sorceress dwelling in the future, with a grudge against SeeDs, and a desire to bring about Time Compression is known, but beyond that her story is really anyone's (informed) guess.
There are many FFVIII and multi-FF hybrid fanfics to be read, although none of them really offer anything official. As far as I understand, Benny Matsuyama (who wrote a short novel regarding Aeris for the forthcoming FFVII Ultimania) probably wrote an FFVIII-based novel for that book, which would, I suppose, be the closest thing to "official fan fiction." Unfortunately, the Ultimanias (as you might have already inferred) only appear in Japanese.
At the present time, SE has made no announcements that would suggest the development of an official prequel or sequel to FFVIII. Given the nature of the ending of FFVIII, a sequel, at the least, is improbable.
