FFII level up

Was just wondering if these techniques can be used in Dawn of Souls and if they're pretty much the same game, just different graphics.

the attack leveling system is slightly different because they fixed it so that you cant use the cheat where you select attack then cancel the move about 100 time and get loads of attack level ups.my advive is train the three of your character on only a few different spells(so you dont have to get about 20 level 16 spell which takes ages.)
E.G firion:cure,life holy. maria:cure flare wall guy:ultima cure drain.leon: protect wall shell(just whatevers right for you.i never bothered much on spells and when i won my highest spell was lvl11 cure.

Fight strong foes. Like when you are to destroy the dreadnought 2nd time. Fight captains until you have extreme stats and weopens.
