Thread: Space, constant speed?

Default Space, constant speed?

I was reading this thing about the whole conspiracy about how we didn't go to the moon. They claimed one of the reasons was because the saturn 5 rocket didn't have enough fuel for it... however once you're in space and have reached the speed you want to be at, can't you just cut the engines and you'll continue to fly in cruise control with nothing to slow you down? I dunno... you can talk about the conspiracy if you want too, is this in the right place though?
I seriously got this the first time I tried it.

you need small jets to change direction but inertia should carry you to the moon.

Aparently none of these people read the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica. I haven't either, but the ideas, man.

that movie is pretty cool.

I'm reminded of the time someone accused Buzz Aldrin of participating in a faked moon landing and Buzz slugged the guy.

I saw that vid. It was awesome.

As eest said, you just need small jets to change direction.

Maybe I should start a new thread.. but who believes that the USA did go to the moon in 1969... and if that was a fake. Was the apollo 13 mission staged as well because in reality they couldn't leave low earth orbit? Apollo 13 would be a good excuse to explain why they never tried any other moon landings afterall.

Go to an observatory right now (Keck, preferably) and you should be able to see the American flag in the Sea of Tranquility.

Wow.. genius way to prove it. Rather interesting indeed how quickly you can be swayed on such issues...

Yeah, I've been noticing that as I get older.... especially when I watch shows on conspiracies... very quickly you are swayed one way and then back again.
