    Default Dogma = Offensive?

I finally got round to watching it! Teh yayness! It's one of my fave films ever now! However, I was researching into it and found quite a few sites dedicated to hate-mail about it. I can understand why people would get upset, especially Catholics, but it's not really that bad. Is it? Has anyone else seen, and were you offended? Are you religious? How did Dogma affect you religiously? Personally, Dogma backs up some of my views on religion, although I'm not religious.

I don't find it offensive at all. If Constantine was so widely accepted I don't see why this would be offensive. (You are referring to the Dogma (1999) right?)

The Jay and Silent Bob flick? Awesome. Kinda went with some of my thoughts as well (not necissarily beliefs, 'cause I like to keep an open mind)

I didn't find it offensive. Then again, I veiw religion as a big joke itself.

I thought it was one of the funniest movies ive ever seen. I liked how god was a hot chick. funny stuff. didnt really change my veiws on religion though. Of course I am an athiest, so religion doesnt really bother me. I thought it was just a good example of how some churches can act. im not saying any particular church *cough*catholic*cough*, but im sure you know which one I mean.

Are you saying some people take their religion too seriously?

    Man, I love this movie.

Can't say I'm suprised a lot of people took offense to it, though. Kevin Smith wasn't shy about poking fun at history according to the Christian religion. Good flick, though.

No you cant say people didnt take offense to it. I saw the movie, and thought it was funny. However, it comes down to you understanding where someone might take offense to it though. You can be like, "Well, I thought it was so kickass, but this Catholic over here is a total idiot because this movie offends his religion." Nah, doesnt work like that. The first place to get a religious understanding of something is respect, which sadly enough, a lot of people on these forums havent grasped on this concept yet.

I thought it was really funny.
The 13th appostle was a black man? so that's why we've never heard of him ... I thought that was hilarious. I can see why some might find it offensive. I am somewhat religous, and I wasn't offended at all so... whatever.

Yes, but not only that. Some flaunt thier religion and use it to gain for themselves or something useless like that.

I really, honestly, have no idea where you're coming from on this one.

Great movie. The buddy Jesus craked me up. And no its not offensive, some people just have nothing better to do and so they pick at little things in movies, tv programs, books etc and bring up the idea that they are offensive which other people who have nothing else to do agree with and follow. Thus, creating a group of people against it and trying to ban it.

Its a just a reference for people who claim that this movie makes the Church look bad, which it does
