If the movie had involved a complete ignorance of bibical knowledge and themes, and had perhaps a hundred and one reasons to love Satan, then I could understand why it would be offensive. As it is it's just a piece of fiction build on a very-well made set of mythos.

Little Nicky on the other hand is offensive in more ways than one.

I was born & raise RC and I loved the movie. Some people are just unable to accept religious satire. I seen it as it was, a satire & enjoyed it. It's if you start taking the MOVIE, not the religion too seriously, do you turn into a humourless twat.

Intelligent film, cleverly done.
I'm slightly amused by all the internet rants about how it's an evil, anti-Christian movie (there's one imbecilic reviewer on Yahoo!Movies who says it's part of a plot to undermine Christianity, orchestrated by "Jews and homosexuals such as Matt Damon and Ben Affleck").

If you pay even the slightest attention to this movie, you realise that it's tremendously respectful toward God and Christ. Both are treated with the reverence that they are afforded by Christianity. The only thing this movie criticises is the tendency of some churches to forget about their roots, getting mired in ritual and dogma rather than remaining true to their purpose. It's sarcastic but constructive criticism of what some denominations are at risk of becoming.

I'm not Christian, but I appreciate and enjoy this movie in a lot of ways.

I don't think it mocked or exploited Christianity and don't understand why anyone would be offended. Except for Catholics, but the Pope is offended by Harry Potter so that doesn't say much.

Well put, Big D. I never saw ANYTHING on that movie that I construed as truly blasphemous, but rather it took a few good shots at a lot of points that people get hung up on (ie// Maybe Jesus IS black, maybe God IS a woman....heh....I could see a lot of Misogynists ting themselves now...)

Many thanks Christmas!
