Edit: also, one difference is that cars here are less gas-efficient than in the US. To give you an idea, on my dad's car, on highways, I can get at best 700-800km with 60 liters. So that's... 435-500 miles with 15 gallons... or about 30 miles per gallon. Sadly, most of the time is spent in town in traffic, which means often only 2/3 that if you're lucky.
