Yes. I really don't like bands being political as only very few can pull it off. SoaD is the only band that pulls it off good, in my opinion. Green Day did have some very good older songs. I love Good Riddance.
NOFX pull off being political pretty good. The Clash were the best political band by far.

EDIT: Green Day suck now they're trying to be political.
