Gas Boycott

In case many of you were wondering, the biggest problem right now isn't the price of the gas, it's the LACK of gas. Most gas stations on my way to work, which is a thirty mile drive, have been shut down because there are no fuel deliveries.

Additionally, the price of gas skyrocketed NOT because OPEC raised the price per barrel, because they didn't raise it by that much. Prices are sky high because gas station owners are trying to prevent a run on their pumps. This is also why they've begun to ration it out. If most people hadn't been so freaking retarded and jumped up to go top all three or four or their cars off in a mad rush, things wouldn't have had to come to this. But human beings are, as a group, pretty gullible. OMG DE GAS IZ GON 4EVA GET IT WILE U CAN.

I managed to get a full tank today, and I don't plan on worrying about it until Tuesday or Wednesday when I need to fill up. There are many more important things going on in this country right now that Americans SHOULD focus on, but refuse to because they're vain and shortsighted.

Yes, but, once gas reaches the point where you can't earn your living when factoring in petrol prices, you're going to have to make a change no matter how much you love your car. Some people will decide to abandon traditional motor vehicles before that point, everyone will once they reach that point.

It will never reach such a point. Look at the gas prices in Europe for example. They are constantly increasing and have been for a really long time. At places the gas prices are as high as 7$ a gallon. Maybe people would abandon their cars if the concept of public transportation would evolve a little further, but as it is today, people who live on the country or in the suburbs do need effective means of personal transportation.

Actually, if you take inflation and past gas prices into account, it hasn't gone up as much as people usually think. But there will reach a point when people can't afford it anymore. When it costs more to drive to work everyday then you get in your paycheck, people will quit driving. If they don't, they are stupid enough that they deserve what they get.

To add to that, a majroity of us are not rich, and majority is what counts in the end. (with most democracy )

I know I have just stopped driving so much, instead of adjusting y budget. So they lost a few bucks from me. Nyuh!

I agree with the idea of getting a hybrid for fuel effeciancy. I just found out that my neighbor got one, and she barely has to pay for the gas.
For those of you who can just crap out a hybrid (not me). That actually might pay off.
