It's not extra popular, it's just that people can actually come out of the closet now without fear. In the 80s, gay people were blamed for AIDs and everyone hated them. Now, being gay is tolerated much more, which is nice.

Gay people make up something like 5% of the population. Being gay isn't the "cool thing" to do; being yourself is the cool thing to do.

I don't like how recently, chicks pretend to bi to pick up guys. I think that's jusy silly. Being yourself is better. I have no problem with people who really are bisexual and are being theirselves, I just dislike the people who pretend to be bi, just look sexy or something.
