    There are hardly any split opinions about love and happiness. Close to everyone would agree that these occurences are something they enjoy experiencing, so what actual significance would a song with lyrics dealing with these topics have?
    That has nothing to do with anything. The fact that love and happiness are universally appealing are what makes them good things to focus on. Everyone gets it. It's rather like saying 'Everyone acknowledges rape is bad, why bothing making any outcry?'. Spreading the word about something and arguing your point are not the only worthwhile things to sing/compose/write/paint about.

    I don't think green day totally sold out here. The had some political beliefes and made a record base on them. I am sure there next record will be traditional.

    Green Day is completley in the right IMO. If your gonna try to send a certain message, or change your little style a wee bit - make one specific Album for that cause.
