SNES (as Final Fantasy III), then rereleased under it's proper title on the PSX a few years later.
EDIT: Grammar
why was FF6 called FF3 then ?
lololol those sneaky squre people, so is there any differance between the one on the PSX and the one on the SNES ?

The PSX one comes with an opening and ending FMV, as well as a few other extras. The menu has an annoyingly long load time that I believe was not in the original version.
so the only differance is 2 fmv's ?
Prettymuch. And some things have different names, I think, but I could be wrong.
ok thanx for clearing that up![]()
In addition to the two FMVs (plus the third one cobbled from footage of the first two), the PS version has a detailed bestiary, a colosseum chart, a stats screen showing stuff like what percentage of your total battles each character fought in, and storyboards for the FMV sequences. The visual censorship in the American SNES version was also removed, and there were a couple extremely minor changes to the script.
So minor that they didnt even fix the glaring typos from the first. The only two instances of dialogue that were changed were spoken by NPCs.
They made me sad when they didnt fix the "Terra, come one, blah blah blah" typo
so is should get the PS version then
The only problem with the PS version is that the loading times are pretty bad. It's up to you whether all the extra features are worth it or not.
It came out in 1994 I believe for the SNES under the alias of Final Fantasy III as FFIV came out as FFII. The reason for this is because II, II, and V were never released until their compiltions. The FF origin's compilation caried a remake to FFI as it did with FFII which wasnt released before that. FFIII was never released outside of japan. Never made a remake, Yet. Planning one on the DS. FFIV came out as the second FF released outside of japan so they named it FFII. Same goes for FFVI because FFV was never released. So yes..Originally Posted by ultima88
