I heard the dumbest thing on the radio:
It was some competition or other to win a trip to the UK to see The Gorillaz live.
I thought, What a stupid thing! The Gorillaz are 4 animated characters put together by a couple white guys. How exactly would they do a live show?
I mean, the could put it up on a great big studio screen or something like that, but that hardly counts as live does it.

The actual musicians DO play live, just that the characters are shown as playing on the screen.
So, you hear the music live, just don't see the players.

I'd go see it. I love Gorillaz. Theyre about the only thng i listen to thats not some form of Rock. (Altho some of their songs i would consider rock)
Movies are on a screen but a lot of people go to see those.
Not to mention that at most big concerts, the majority of the people are too far away to see anyone on stage clearly. When I went to see Radiohead I may as well have been watching a music video, as I could only see the light show and the live video of the band up close.
It'd be a unique experience. I can imagine a lot of people going who don't even like the band, just for the novelty alone.

I wouldn't have a big problem from watching it on a screen. I heard from someone that apparently you can see the outlines of the actual musicians behind screens, but I'm not sure if this is true.
