Damn you crash! What a hard choice to make...But I'm gonna pick SD1 in its GBA version (Sword of Mana). Such great songs, although the class system isn't as deep as it was in the series' third installment. A great game, to say the least.

Definitely SD3. The game is huge, the paths you can take in both the storyline and in developing your characters are incredibly numerous, the graphics are extremely well-done, and multiplayer is a blast. Plus it has Kevin, Karl, and Booskaboo.
Legend of Mana
The "Song of Mana" is sung by a Swedish vocalist.
I might buy the game for that.
Introduction
Jag hörde
En nostalgisk sång
Någonstans långt bort
Den rörde djupt i mitt hjärta
En ung styrka
Talade om livets sång
Jag är född av dig
Och jag kom tillbaks
Sluten i en sång
Både vänlig och grym
Mitt liv tog en vändning
Jag är född på nytt

SD3, followed very closely by all of the other ones.
I find it almost impossible to dislike any of the characters storylines, and the possiblities are (nearly) endless when you realize that your story changes depending not only on who your primary character, but also on your secondary and third character. Hell, there are even three different final bosses, and like a gazillion ending variations.

I liked both Final Fantasy Adventure and Legend of Mana a lot. If I had to choose between them, I'd stick with Final Fantasy Adventure. It's one of my favorite gameboy games of all time.
To hell with Battletoads and Double Dragon.
THIS is the ultimate team.
I am currently playing SD3 for the first time, and I am loving it far more than the others.
*sobs*
I NEED Legend of Mana.
Curse the UK for not MAKING them release it over here!
My Cure spell brings all the boys to the yard,
And they're like: "It's better than yours."
Damn right, it's better than yours!
I could Heal you, but I have to charge.
The only one I've played extensively is Secret of Mana, but the impression I've gotten from SD3 is that it's better in just about every way.
