Actually, after a major diaster, the public usually rallies around the President. Nothing like a good attack to bring the nation together. Bush's approval rating after 9/11 was something like 90%. And you gotta understand, the disapproval in Bush right now isn't just coming from "Bush haters" it's coming from Republicans and Democrats alike. And Bush knows he didn't do a great job handling the situation as he's doing major damage control at the moment.
Yeah the slow reaction of the government to send aid to the gulf coast. Brought his ratings down. Bush could've done something, but he blew it so whateva.

lol Woot bush is now unpopular!!

Use Bush haters aren't alone anymore.

and yet he's still going to be President for the next 3.5 years unless he dies or does something so ridiculously illegal that even the nutcases in the House will impeach him.

The hell of it is I'm sure people could find plenty of impeach-worthy stuff if they'd just look.

I'm not too sure about that. I've been extremely dissappointed with how people have been handling much of Bush's actions in the media and otherwise, so I really can't say how much is going on that we don't know about, given how little coverage things that are pretty much undeniable are given.

    Illinois voted against Bush.

And, actually, I AM surprised that his approval is still that high.

As long as the money is in the hands of the rich I'm happy. (SPOILER)<-- This is called a joke.

That isn't a bad way of thinking for now. Everyone else seems to be thinking for themselves nowadays.
