You don't have to be a <i>huge</i> jerk to get banned from those forums. Being a semi-jerk is good enough and zero tolerance means zero tolerance.

Permanent Bans and EoEO Bans are two different things. If you had a permanent ban you would have a nice pink title and you would no longer to able to post anywhere in EoFF.

An EoEO Ban is usually for two weeks for your first offense. After a few of these, it then will become a permanent EoEO Ban where you will no longer be able to view or post in the EoEO or the EotW Forums.

The warnings for those two forums are in the forum description as well as the IMPORTANT thread that should be read before posting in them. No other warning is required.

For permanent bans, you would get at least one PM first advising you to curb whatever it is that you're doing that you shouldn't be doing. After that, your fate is basically in your own hands.

My favourite banning was Doomie's banning, as he got banned for laughing at another person's post. The thing is, that post was a funny post that was intended to be funny. Bless all those crazy CKs.

Translation: If a CK doesn't like you, they'll ban you for a little while, so hopefully you stop going against the flow so much. If you're lucky, you can make a decent argument against a ban and have them lighten up a little bit, if you're right. After your one ban, they'll just start ignoring everybody who insults you, and quickly punishing you when you insult others. Hey, it happens.

I got banned the first time because a CK "misunderstood" a general (factual) comment to be a personal insult against him/her. I made a thread about it in Feedback, which was cool because before they closed it, a couple people who usually disagreed with me went in there to say that they agree it was a bogus ban, and though the CK that banned me never openly admitted that he/she was wrong, they lowered my ban from three weeks to two. The second time, it was because I got tired of not just the ignorance in there, but the people being stubborn about it -- ignorance and arrogance is not a good combination -- so I made a post prettymuch calling everybody in that thread stupid, and saying that anybody who agrees with a certain idea is a dumbass. I still stick by that idea, but oh well.

Even if a post is spam'ish, If the post didnt hamr no one, then why be so strict. And why now do we have all these bans. Back when I joined ( a year or so ago ), there were none of these. Why has EOFF had the sudden change of heart.
