heres a hint for u. i play the endless mind boggleing method. tape down a dpad direction and the a button. set sail going and direction so i dont hit land and goo. after 3 or so hours i come back and im usually level 28 or so. then i instantly go for the pennisuala of power until 35 or so. then the earth caves hall of heros till 50.
but that is only with my all bb party.
other wise its sea till 20 then ice cave 22 then ordeals 23 then behamut then mirage towers endless loop till 50

I have a routine, just leveling up and leveling up. Then i'll go save just to make sure i don't lose any of that experience, no need for more boredom. It's what i've always done, so boring... Yup, like Creed said, kind of in a trance

FF1 - Penisula of Power once I get FIR2 and HRM2 or just FIR2, until I get to the point where I don't get knocked down to critical HP lvls or die for that matter... then just coast thru the game like that.

FF2 - Simple beat each other senseless method until I beat some magicians for Beserk Tomes and take an early trip to Mysidia for some Swaps. In DoS, later on max out Toad(you need patience for this, it gets horribly boring in the higher lvls), and get a nice supply of Masamunes, and Genji Stuff.

The other ones I just go with the flow.... one in FF6 I did the river thing where you tape down the confirm button and you keep goin round and round.... 1 day later... lvl 99...

Small tip, Genji equipment is horrible in FFII. You're better off selling it.

In just about any Final Fantasy game I tend to over-level early on and then never do it again until the end of the game by which point I'm so hideously under-levelled that I need to spend 5 hours just getting back to a reasonable point.

Thought Genji Equipment in FF2 had the best stats... /shrug.
Maybe im thinking of another FF.(havent played FF2.... just read about it alot)

For me, sometimes I just go with the flow of the game, and occasionally fight for a few hours around a town that i can stay at cheaply to get a little stronger....

Sometimes I overlvl a good bit and then rush through til im weak again and repeat...

    All depends.
Course, only FF in this forum that Ive played is FF1 though.........

Yeah double on the Genji gear, it completely ruins your Evasion, plus you don't get some of the juicy bonuses that other armours have, like the Black/White/Dragon armours. I've never had to over-level before. I tend to find that, if you discount side-quests, any FF can be completed from start to finish without much backtracking. With the exception of FFI and II, with FFI requiring Dargon Warrior style levelling sessions at certain points, and FFII's dungeons being so damn evil and that require five or six runs through.
