Default does anyone think animes kinda crap?

I mean I love evangelion though its severley over rated and I watched ,hack//sign because I was obsessed with the series after the first game but most of what I've seen (not much in compariosn to many on this board) was pretty mediocre.

If you're watching a lot of the CN stuff, it's not surprising. Even a lot of Adult Swim's stuff isn't for everyone.

    ed's got it.

There's good and bad stuff in any medium, be it anime, games, movies, etc., and with every form of entertainment, some like it and some don't. I'm going along with what ed's saying here.

Newer anime is rarely for me. I'll take some old Voltron. Or the original few seasons of Ranma, or Tenchi Universe. But anymore its really hard for me to find one I wouldn't mind sitting through a whole series for. In fact (especially with CN) its hard to find one where I can stomach a whole episode anymore. Cowboy Bebop was of course awesome. And Outlaw Star wasn't so bad. But yeah. Gems in a sea of mediocrety (sp?)

Seeing as how everyone is probably going to agree with me I will list what I like

    Studio Bones
    Studio Bee-Train
    Gundam

My collection is pretty much that. I usually like what Bones and Bee-Train churn out(although Eureka 7 has not caputured my interest at all and Wolf's Rain was...yeah). I am sucker for Gundam. There are others here and there like Bebop or Inuyasha that have captured my interest but I stick with what I know for the most part and don't stray from it.

The best ones out of this are hack//sign(bee-train) and FMA(bones).

Not all anime is good stuff, but you may find some you enjoy.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

I seem to be bashing anime lately, mostly the americanized, because I want my anime to be beautiful and subtitled, and have nothing edited out. I grew up with anime and I seem to appreciate the stuff I grew up with as opposed to the new series that are coming out. I don't necessarily watch anything anymore, I'm sticking to reading manga instead.

    Same here.

The only thing I really noticed about anime that I could see as a general negative is that alot of them take annoying animation shortcuts. Of course, not all do, but alot more anime do it than animation from other countries typically do. It doesn't really bug me thoughm but I know that's the primary bitch that comes up in the "ANIME SUX" argument.

Well no, actually "big eyes" is.
    I like Kung-Fu.

I like some of it. I still remembered when it was called "japanamation."

In Britain they still call it manga, which in many ways is worse.

Anime is good but the kiddy animes get on my nerves. Their all about cards and tournaments. Sheesh cant they find something else to make a series about! The adult swim ones are pretty good tho and theres acouple of the kid ones that are ok, mainly the ones that dont involve battling in tournaments using cards or monsters or whatever. Like Astro Boy, that was good.

I don't watch anime really but it really makes me not want to watch it when kids act obnoxious and overly obsessed when the topic arises.
