Numbering your series: Roman vs. regular

I personally prefer regular numbers for everyday use They have the same meaning, and the constant usage of roman numerals seems like trend protocol to me. But that's just me. You?

Roman digits are sexy. Sex sells games. Roman Numerals! Ceasar dressing sucks though.


I think it is 100% based on the astetic look and feel they are going for. Obviously ages of mythology should have roman numerals, as well as ceasers palace etc.

But anyway, whatever. I get confused sometimes and can't remember which series is numbered in which manner, but other than that I've no problems.

It depends on my mood. I never thoroughly learned how to type using the number pad on the right of the keyboard, so I'm always hunting the arabic numerals on top of the letter keys. If I deem it more difficult to hit the correct arabic digit key, then I will use roman numerals, because I actually know where those are.

It all comes down to how lazy I feel. Do I sacrifice a bit of speed and use romans, or do I sacrifice the comfort of turning my neck down and hunting out 1-0 on the keyboard?

Now, Superbowl 40=XL, which I'm sure most of you have noticed at this point... the letters aren't hard it's difficult with numbers like, 1998... which would be... uhm... MCMXCVIII, which broken down is M=1000, CM=900, XC=90, VIII=8 woo hoo fun!
