needless slaughter.
I have to disagree with this here. If someone is gonna constantly attack you, do you sit and wait? My religon says to kill enemies with kindness, while other tell people to kill themselves in the name of thier god. Violence is inherant in human nature as seen through out the old testement (several books whice many major religons adopted).

I see the needless death, and sorrows caused by us sitting back as being far worse. I would never call our plight needless nor would i call it revenge. Iraq prolly woulda happend either way.

Although I do not want to turn thess into another Iraq debate, I just think that calling the outcome of this tragity as beeing needless war deters us from the actual memorial of 9/11. It should not hold as a memorial that war is bad no less than Pearl Harbor should. It should remind us that we are part of the world, and not as safe as we would like to be.
