FF3: the Sage and his magic space...

Damn it, I'm getting all frustrated here!
Right now I'm trying to decide which magics I should give priority to for my Sages, and it's just hopeless!
Sure, LV8 wasn't that hard, most people would probably go with Life2-Flare-Bahamut or something, but what about the others?
I'm having BIG problems with LV3, cuz I usually wanna keep ALL of the elemental black magic, which I can't on this one, cuz then I lose spells like Exit.

Do you have any hints on best magics?
I'd also like to keep Heal, cuz it feels pretty important.

Bahamut and Life2 for Level 8 is THE way to go.

Here's my suggestion. These are the spells you need. The "..." slots are optional.

Level 1: Cure - Pure - ...
Level 2: Mini - Toad - ...
Level 3: Cure 2 - Exit - Wash
Level 4: ... - ... - ...
Level 5: Cure 3 - Life - ...
Level 6: Soft - Haste - ...
Level 7: Cure 4 - Heal - ...
Level 8: Bahamut - ... - ...

In case you're not picking up on my logic, white magic is infinitely more useful in this game than black magic. In fact, with the exception of Bahamut, damage spells are pretty much useless. Why use Flare or Holy when you can use Bahamut for more damage and the same cost?
