I've gone through yellow lights a lot. Often times, I've sped up when I was a little too far where I've got through just when it turns red. :o

Anyway, my thinking goes like this. If I'm at a far distance from the lights, I slow down, if I'm close, I tend to go through.

I've never sped up in order to beat a yellow light. I used to speed up while passing through yellow lights, though.

In my town people go through yellow lights at normal speed, and after the light turns red two more people get to go through too. This way there's never a point where a car isn't going through the intersection. This is to prevent pedestrians from crossing streets, because they should really know better.

I slowed down at a yellow light the other day and some guy behind me started freaking out and punching his steering wheel. I tend to slow down a little bit before I go through any light, no matter what color it is, just in case it starts turning yellow by the time I get to it. Isn't that what you're supposed to do?

The blinking lights in Leeza's town kind of freaked me out.

I almost always slow down at a yellow light. If I'm right on the light, I'll go through at normal speed.

It's called a California stop, and we do it because it saves precious seconds off our commute.

If I have time to stop I'll stop. If I have to slam on the brakes to stop in time, I'll go through. I'd rather not be rear ended even if I wouldn't be at fault.
