It's yellow...not red.
xDIn my town people go through yellow lights at normal speed, and after the light turns red two more people get to go through too. This way there's never a point where a car isn't going through the intersection. This is to prevent pedestrians from crossing streets, because they should really know better.
If I'm far enough away to easily come to a stop, I'll stop. If I'm close, I'll go through at a normal speed. If it's borderline, I make a judgment call.
I would only speed up if I noticed that some punk ass pedestrian had noticed that the light had turned yellow, and automatically assumed that I was going to start slowing down and tied to make a dash for it before it turned red.
And that’s why my country will never provide me with a driver’s license…
When I see a yellow light, I just stop the car, get out, and walk. Saves the hassle of making descisions.
