Default Small, Insignificant but Annoying Problem

Ok, I use a Dell Dimension 4600 at work, and it has a nifty wireless mouse and keyboard. I don't know why, but every once in a while I will be moving the mouse and it will just suddenly move to one of the corners of the screen. It doesn't happen all that often so it doesn't really bother me, but I just wanted to know if it was because something was wrong and could be fixed.

Hey that happens to the one I have at home. I do not know if it is the same series, but it is dell, but mine is a optical mouse *is actually parents computer*. Though I never had trouble with the one on my laptop. But it was a pain during Photoshop, all of sudden a huge streek through it...

My mouse has a cord, but still jumps the cursor up to the top right corner.

Sometimes also it'll start sneaking across the screen when I'm not touching it. I watch it mezmerized, like a rabbit watching a cat sneak up on it.

Optical mice do this when the tacking system gets messed up. Avoid extremley shiney surfaces, food crums (my main problem ), and avoid picking the mouse to far off the desk/mouspad.

Its normal, and there is no real fix for it. Some mice, may have more stable tracking systems, but I just reccomend the olld 10 - 20 dollar logitech optical wheel mice. The seem to work great.

Optical mice use a red LED.

If the problem was that this mouse is an optical mouse then wouldn't the non-wireless version of this mouse do the same thing (which is doesn't, I have one at home)?

That usually happens if you don't have the drivers installed for the mouse correctly.
