Well i think Tifa doesnt really forget what happened, sort of misplaced if you get what i mean.

Its like when you know a long word and you want to use that word but cant quite remember it, till you ask someone and they'll say it and your like "o yeah thats it" and same going for trying to remember someones face from tv, some one tells you and you remember instantly like you never forgot.

I think this is what happened to Tifa on ff7 when Cloud in Kalm tell his story about his last visit to Nibelheim. After he finishes, Tifa is unsure about what Cloud said, she knows somehow thats not what really happend but cant put her finger on what really did. If i remember correctly she thinks Cloud is not the real Cloud at some point. When they fall into the lifestream and she sees the truth, she instantly remembers.

Hopefully all that just made sense.

No, I think she just kept it a secret. Given 5 years is a long time and they admit they have a hard time remembering stuff, but I think I would know how long since I've seen someone I've fallen in love with. Tifa didn't remember Cloud 5 years ago (remember flashback which occurs right after you lose control of Cloud, which is about their reunion shortly before the game) b/c he was too embarrassed to show himself. She remembered what happened 5 years ago, but wasn't aware that it was Cloud. So, when Cloud is telling about his memories 5 years ago, you can imagine her internal reaction: "wtf?"

Does Last Order break that continuity? I haven't seen it yet.

I remember the flashback, it was when they see eachother for the first time and she recruits him for avalanche. In saying that. i still think shes unsure because of the picture that was taken and other events but is convinced of Clouds story when he goes on about the trip on the way to Nibelheim and going to see if she was home, because she wasnt there to know if it was true or not so she believes it. From seeing Cloud for a short time from what really happened and what cloud said happened, all she knows for sure is that she saw cloud on that day. She practically clueless untill she pieces Clouds memories back together.

I need to play FF7 again to understand it better and we really need to play Crisis Core, I think thats the key to unlocking the whole story of Final Fantasy 7.

I downloaded it and watched it yesterday and really liked it. I dont usually go the anime stuff but this was pretty cool. Fight scenes are nothin compared to Advent Children, but totally different animation and other stuff. The only part that i didnt like was when (SPOILER)Sephiroth jumped into the reactor instead of Cloud throwing him in it. Im pretty sure thats how Cloud did it in the game but i havent played it in a while so....whatever.

Thank you for spoiling it for me!

In FFVII, yes, Cloud sort of throws him into the reactor core. He grabs onto the Masamune and pulls it out his shoulder, and basically throws him in with the Masamune. I don't know why Sephiroth let him get away with it. I guess he was in shock.

My bad about the spoiler. I thought if the game had been out a certain number of years you didnt have to put the spoiler tag thing. Sorry. How long has Last Order been out anyways?

    Oh here is another thing.....
On The Way To A Smile — Novelization of the events that happened directly after Final Fantasy VII. Told in retrospective fashion 4 years after the end of Final Fantasy VII. It is story of a young boy named Denzel, who lived in the slums of Midgar.

Last Order has only been out for a few weeks if I'm not mistaken.

But anyways, yeah, I thought it was awesome, and I didn't really care about the "mistakes" in it, even if it was a bit confusing. It was enjoyable on its own, in a sense.

I also really want to have a look at that On The Way To A Smile. I hope it'll be good. I just need the time to sit down and read it.

ffadventchildren has links in the news to the forums where you can get translations for some of them. The official site has the official Japanese.

I really don't think they were too concerned about continuity. Its 25 minutes long. If it were a full blown movie, or mini series, where they had time to explain things or something, they might have kept the Cloud and Tifa meeting out. I think they just threw their crap to the wind and threw that in there for sentimental reasons. Someone probably wanted an animated reuinion between the two. And since the anime wasn't going to depict the whole story up until they meet in Midgar, they did it that way. Though I'd be more likely to agree with Russie. There was no reason to remember the events specifically over the course of five years, because they didn't come into question until five years later. So it is possible she had forgotten a lot. Its also possible she was pretty out of it when she did see him, and when she woke up all she remembered was her seething hatred of Seph, SOLDIER, Shin-Ra and Zack. Or maybe she did think she saw Cloud, but there was no evidense to prove it, so she might have thought it was a dream and/or delusion and shrugged it off. It doesn't really matter to me. I liked that scene and I'm glad it was in there.

Just seen it, it was good. It had a couple of inaccuracies such as
(SPOILER) Sephiroth jumping into the lifestream
