Yellow chocobo heads mean that the person is logged into EOFF at the time. Dark ones mean they are not. The lightning bolt is under everyones name but your own and is used to warn against bad or offensive posts.

Tables arn't outdated. They are not to be used for layout. Using them for tabular data is find and dandy. This site uses them, in naughty ways
