It was a pretty decent concept, really. I tend to think the peak was with the release of Gold and Silver, those games were really quite good. I hated Ruby and Sapphire because you couldn't get ALL of the pokemon (I mean come on! It was on Gameboy Advance! You'd think they could make the world much bigger and have all the pokemon in it!)

I would still play the game if they revamped it and concentrated on what really made the game fun: the options. Tinker with party size, different pokemon, different paths (want to become a master? Breeder? Gym leader? Go for it!).

Really, I think the best thing they could do for Pokemon is make a massive world and place it online. Players can log on and challenge each other to matches and generally enjoy the concept in real time, and also be allowed to make their own gyms and the like. That would be a lot of fun and I'd definitely play. But really, they're just milking the same basic format, and it's getting laughable. It has a lot of potential, so much more can be done.

I was totally obsessed with it for years. I have more pokemon cards then you can imagine. Now they lie in a large binder under my bed.

I thought the original games were great. Gold and Silver were decent as well. I stopped playing after those games, though. As far as the cards went, I had a huge collection. I remember when I moved away from Texas my friend gave me all his cards 'cause he quit playing. I probably had close to 1,000 cards. I never really played with them, just collected them. Eventually, after leaving them sitting for four years, I gave them to my 8-year-old neighbor down the street. He went berserk for them.

I sold Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver about a year back along with a bunch of other old gameboy games I never touch anymore to help pay for an Xbox. It's surprising how much I can get for some gameboy games.

I've heard that Flame Red and Leaf Green are remakes of blue and red. If that's true I'd consider picking one of those up.

Well it was okay in my books when only Mew was a bonus pokemon....but now we have Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, AND Deoxys. The only way to get 'em all is if you're sleeping with someone at Nintendo, or with a Gameshark *Avoids everyone's judging startes*

I remember Missingno if I remember correctly you had to surf the coast of Cinnabar Island. i would run into then and Lvl147 Golbats all day.

Its only in Red and Blue. You have to go to Viridian city and ask the guy to teach you how to throw a pokeball. When he's done, immediately fly to Cinnabar and surf along the coast on the right side of the island. You'll run into a lot of strong, high level pokemon (Sometimes even Mewtwo) and one will be a Missingno., which stands for "missing number".

Yeah. However, you MUST NOT save after catching it, or it will screw up your game. If you give it a rare candy though, it will evolve into a Kangiskhan (sp?) or something else, depending on which version you play. You can save after that.
