15 Mo/Me, monks kick butt. Just cast Balthazar's spirit on yourself, then Zealot's fire, Balthazar's Aura, Symbol of Wrath, and heal your self and you'd be doing over 600+ damage to a group of monsters in under 15 seconds. Works good against undead, I tried this at gates of kryta on solo mission and leveled three times.

wow, might i say this game is awesome, just the game ive been looking for.

in the end i chose to be mesmer/warrior.


ive been partying with this kind player called Buffy the Massuer.

we are both mesmer, so we both own the meeliests and spell casters, but we die quick if we dont play smartly, thats what i like about this game aswell.

Yeah, that's one of the big things about Guild Wars - every class combination is pretty solidly equal, it's all in how you play them.

The community is horrible.

If it was a few months ago, I'd say you'd have great fun, but now a wonderful game has been ruined by a childish and stupid community.

Nobody PLAYS the game any more, instead they pay people in-game money to "run" them to places so that they don't actually have to play it.

So, what's the point of PLAYING a game, if you're not actually going to PLAY it?

I just gave up when someone insulted me and called me an idiot for wanting to find a party to fight my way to the missions in the desert on my Monk.

I quit it, got WoW, and the community is a million times better.

I've never had a problem with people not wanting to party with me or insulting me for wanting to party. People running to places doesn't bother me; it's their loss. For one of the ascension missions some level fourteen tried to join my party with his "I know this game like the back of my hand" attitude so I told him I want to actually play the game and he went away.

Then again, I always play with BJ so I always have at least one person to play with, and the guild we found is all about actually playing the game too. So I don't really have a bad community experience. The lack of auction house is terribly annoying though.

I could never find a guild that didn't annoy me so much I had to turn the guild chat off, so that certainly didn't help.

Went through about five of the buggers.

And I always had a friend to play with as well, just we both got so sick of it we gave up.

Ugh, and while the class combo thing is nice, it just leads to some infinitely stupid people thinking they have great ideas.

A W/E, who thought it was great to run into the middle of a group of enemies and use Meteor Storm, claiming "omgz i bunch dem up and then they die!", yeah, 'cause using all your energy in one spell that takes incredibly long to cast and then having exhaustion afterwards is FANTASTIC when you could have used Inferno and Phoenix in the time it took to use Meteor Storm.

It's a fantastic game, wonderful idea, and it IS good fun, just I could never have fun with it because I could either never find a party, or found a parties that were just hopelessly incompetent and got everyone killed repeatedly.

Did I mention that before I quit I was playing a monk? Full support monk too, the one class that everyone used to always want.

Unfortunately, you are correct, this game is mostly populated by idiots and jack@$$es. Have you tried playing with henchmen? They work together a lot better than most pickup teams.

But the best teams I've found are gathering friends who you already know to play with. Friend people on the forum, and try playing with them. I think you'll get better results.

See, now that point is ALWAYS made whenever I say I don't want to play the game because the community is bad.

What is the point of playing an ONLINE game with AI-controlled NPC characters?

I might as well go play Neverwinter Nights or Dungeon Siege, or another single player game if I'm just going to play it on my own.

Oh and as a rough estimate of how the game went for me, since release, after having played with several hundred people, over that whole time I met about 10~15 that I enjoyed playing with and would have played with again, and out of those 10~15, I only ever spoke to three of them again, and only ever partied with two of them.

Yet, within a week of playing WoW, I've already met three people who I play with fairly frequently and have a good laugh with, and we're already good friends.

I suppose the community varies from realm to realm, but that's my experience.

I'm not trying to say that WoW > GW, just that for me personally, I prefer it a lot more because the community feels so much nicer.

EDIT : This feels so weird, back when I started GW, I was totally against WoW, now I'm enjoying it a lot. Crazy.

i vote we all start brand new characters on the same server and then create our own guild! the EoFF Guild!!!!

...There are only three servers, based on region.

And all your characters reside in the same guild, so you can't have multiple characters in different guilds.

Unless they changed it recently.

What is the point of playing an ONLINE game with AI-controlled NPC characters?

Because it's a nice solo RPG? I'm actually upset that you can't go through the entire game with henchies. Solo play is so much better than trying to find a team with a brain.
