that's crazy haha sorty of sounds liek a .hack type thing.
My brother told me about it. The main problem there was before the hotfix was that NPCs would get infected but couldn't die from it, which meant that the plague could never disappear, since NPCs would reinfect people.
And then there is Death
Haha, now I've heard everything.
The frightening thing is, Online worlds are slowly moving closer and closer in realism towards our own. We've got social status, economic emulation, and now disease/epidemic outbreaks. Pioneering indeed.
There is no signature here. Move along.
sooner or later, we're going to have a video game that has NO NPCs! everyone is just going to be a character in the world! Valiant Warrior, Emperor, Tyrant, Peasant, Shop Keeper.
If that's true, then I think it has to be a virus, made specifically to do this. NPCs can be killed in WoW; it happens all the time. Why would they be unable to die from this one skill, yet still able to pass it on to others? Of course, if this is intentional, than one of the game designers must be the one who did it, since it is a brand new skill. Interesting...Originally Posted by Endless

WoW, that's strange. I wonder if any friends' characters have caught the plague yet.
BTW, does this mean that logging on right now would probably be a bad idea..?

Face Of Mankind. And it doesn't work terribly well.Originally Posted by Dignified Pauper
Anyways, this is a very interesting case. I'd have been fine if I were playing WoW right now (I'm not, 'cause I'm away from my normal PC.) because I'm on a new server, but this is a curious incident indeed.
Also, a note on the gamer reaction: According to the article, the affected gamers seem to think that this is a cool new effect, even if it is a glitch. Doesn't anyone else find that hard to believe? Given the massive casualty ratings caused by this bug, compounded with the fact that you lose a good 1/10 of the durability of most of your equipment whenever you get killed, don't you think that there would be a fair number of players who would be really, really pissed off at it?
