Defeating Ozma at level one.

Ozma is such a random boss, that he can be defeated easily if you get lucky, and he doesn't use killer moves, or he can destroy you with ease if you're unlucky.

It's got a lot more to do with preparation than luck. Anyway, most of the challenge is getting to Ozma while keeping everyone at level 1.

I was under the impression that it was luck, because I didn't prepare at all, and the first 2 times I lost because he used that status attack, and on the 3rd time he didn't, and I won.

Almost every attack Ozma uses kills a level 1 party in a single turn, therefore preparation is a million times more important than luck in the level one Ozma challenge, however luck also plays its part after the preparation is done, as you have to hope for Ozma to use the right attacks, like Doomsday which can be absorbed or guarded while also dealing 9999 damage to himself if you prepared correctly prior to the battle.
