Default Is there a connection between Blink and Nirvana??

Funny how my top two favorite bands seem to be very much a like. They both have 3 players. Both bands hold the same instrumental postition (Electric, Bass, and Drums). I liked the line in Blink 182's song, "Adams Song". It goes something like "I took my time, I hurried up. The choice was mine, I didn't think enough". Well thing is I heard part of that line on Nirvana's song, "Come As You Are". I have a feeling that Blink 182's favorite band was Nirvana. Not to mention Nirvana came first. Blink came out around 1992, correct?? And Nirvana broke up in 1994 due to the lead guy's suicide, correct?? Then Nirvana was bound to have started around the late 80's...

Anyone else see a link??

The only real link between the two is that Blink ripped off some lines from their song.

The coincidence of their instrumental positioning isn't saying much. You could say that any three-man band is related to any other one. It's a common layout.

I read the biography of Blink and don't recall ever seeing anything about Nirvana being their favorite band. Their influences were more from the punk scene of the time that they formed. I'd say that there's a connection if their music sounded the same, but the sounds and style are so drastically different that it's hard to pull anything from it.

What about Motorhead? Lemmy, the singer and frontman, played base. It was Fast Eddy who was on guitar. I suppose they're just an exception.
I don;t really think that there is a serious connection between Nirvana and Blink, except that they're both over-rated, Nirvana slightly so, Blink hugely so.

Beh, you really can't compare the two on any real scale. It's like comparing coal and diamond as being the same because they're both carbon atoms. Same stuff, different product.
There is no signature here. Move along.

Yes, everyone read your post.
-TONS of bands have three members and the same exact set up. It's hardly anything new.
-Blink rips lyrics.

That's pretty much the size of it.

I know what you meant and still they aren't connected. Blink drew form other socal punk bands at the time where as Nirvana was part of the grundge scene. I mean yeha maybe Blink took some stuff from Nirvana but really what recent band hasn't?

What's your problem? You ask for opinions yet you don't seem to be taking disagreement on a very stupid statement well at all. Your only reason for the two bands being similar have rather obvious flaws, and these have been pointed out several times, and are you still insisting anything you said made even the slightest sense? Any other reason, now you've been proved very wrong?
