    I don't like her. She's a big idiot.

And Rosa Parks, Rosa Parks ROSA PARKS WAS TIRED. If you really believe in something, protest. Seriously. But most people who involve themselves that deeply don't use their personal sob stories like she does. The death of her son made her and her husband divorce? She is imbalanced now?

She could've addressed these concerns to her son when he became a military man. I don't know, she just annoys me.

But that whole needing a permit to demonstrate thing is stupid. And wrong.

EDIT: This was basically a huge ramble that adds nothing to the topic, other than I don't like Cindy Sheehan, but I also think that those arrests were unfair. However, protesters always get arrested for protesting, so I should either get used to it or start a revolution. That's kind of a sad though.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

I have no sympathy for her. She was warned twice before the arrest. She wanted to be arrested. Well, she got her wish, but if she expects me to feel sorry for her because the evil mean government locked her away she'll be in for a surprise.

Besides, she wasn't arrested for protesting without a permit, she was arrested for blocking traffic with her protest. She was warned to take her protest somewhere where it wouldn't interfere with other people, and she didn't because she wanted to be arrested. I have no sympathy for her, I wish she would stay in jail until she rots.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

I agree that she probably wanted to be arrested, from what little I know of her. She's a bit of a nutjob.

A fifty-dollar fine is hardly enough to make her a martyr. Far from it.

That was my point: it's not 1968. Liberals have voting rights and access to education like everyone else. They need to win an election to get what they want.
But that isn't what this is about. It's about bringing attention to an a injust and immoral war in an attempt to further diminish public support for it, and those waging it.
I have no sympathy for her, I wish she would stay in jail until she rots.
And why is this? Is it because you disagree with her stance on things?

I don't recall anybody refering to her as a martyr.

I don't recall saying that anyone had referred to her as a martyr. But that's what she's trying to make of herself - and failing miserably.

I don't get what her beef is. Her boy wasn't kidnapped and murdered. He joined the military and went to war. Anyone who doesn't believe in the war shouldn't participate in it. I doubt the consequences of refusing to participate in a war you don't believe in outweigh being blown up by Iraqis.

They do have a permit. It's called the constitution; maybe they have heard of it?
LOL, well there you go. xD

No. I don't mind her stance on things that much. I firmly believe that everyone should be free to express their opinion. It's the outright lies that piss me off.

Besides, she wanted to be arrested, so why shouldn't she want to stay there? She stays there and it's a win-win situation. We'll all be happy.

Fine, then the protesters need to stop bringing up Vietnam(and Israel, Kyoto, China, hurricanes, etc).

Again, this war began before the '04 election and was marketed before the midterm elections. In both elections, the far left got blown out.

But I don't think those involved in the Civil Rights Movement were smiling. You can't claim oppresion if your oppressors make you giggle and then hand you a parking ticket. She's just a media whore.
Meh, hard to argue with that. And, while I truly dislike Bush, and think the war is a waste of time, money and lives, I'm not overly fond of this woman. Granted, she lost a child, and that's hard, but something about her just doesn't sit right with me.
Besides, she wasn't arrested for protesting without a permit, she was arrested for blocking traffic with her protest.
Which, of course, would be why you need a permit.

To let the local police know that there's going to be a demonstration. That way they can redirect traffic to not interfere with it, as well as set up security measures in case the protestors get violent.

Requiring a permit to protest is not a 1st Amendment violation. However, denying said permit on the basis of what the protest stands for would be.

Just because people didn't like John Kerry enough to vote for him means that the country as a whole approves of the war? Tenuous logic there.

That her son was "tricked" into enlisting (and somehow tricked into re-enlisting), and was "tricked" into volunteering for the mission that got him killed.

I'd never heard that, but that's the sort of thing that's difficult to prove one way or the other. It is a bit of an extreme claim to be making, though.
