do you think that the groups in al qaeda seriously need a set of pictures to kill american soldiers? the fact that they are there is good enough.
the american military must needs to face up to the kind of soldiers it has. as was seen in the other post about exchanging pics of dead iraqis for porn. this isn't an isolated incident. abu gahrib is not new. it happened in baghram and it continues to happen in guantanamo. the de-humanisation of people is something the american army has been very good at since the vietnam war.
it is part of this war now. if you mention quantanamo bay when the torture isn't in doubt there will be people who say "but their terrorist" like the fact that they are human doesn't matter and that they deserve the most degrading treatment. ignore that they were never tried. the american population and more specifically only cares that these folk could be terrorists and so don't count. like the germans did with the communists.
the american government isn't worried about iraqis seeing this. they have had reasons for the past few years to blow up american soldiers. and this isn't what incited 9-11.
the american government is worried about it's bad publicity. this happened on their watch. this is proof of what the american army is doing. and that isn't good propaganda.
