Recently, Dengeki PlayStation magazine reported some new information regarding the upcoming PlayStation 2 shooter RPG Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. As one could expect about any Final Fantasy title, Cid will be appearing in Dirge of Cerberus as the captain of the World Reconstruction Organization's sky fleet. In addition, the magazine announced that Cait Sith will be playable in certain missions, such as infiltrating bases. As Cait Sith is unarmed, his missions will focus on stealth; in a pinch, he can knock down enemies with a punch. The relevant magazine scans are available here.

While Japan can expect Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus to arrive in stores on December 31, no concrete North American release date has been announced.
