What do you think is the best Motown song ever? If you don't know, what is your favorite Motown song? Why?

So far, I think it's Marvin Gaye - "Heard It Through The Grapevine". It's a really cool song for all sorts of reasons. It's really minimal in terms of instrumentation, and Gaye's voice is really good. I like the minor feel, but how it shifts occasionally up. And the ghostly echo after the chorus is creepy. Oh yeah, and I can play it on the piano. That's always a plus.

Oh come on, there's gotta be more than two Motown fans here! I don't know about the rest of you folks, but 85 percent of the time, I'm listening to R&B/Soul music. Stuff that even my parents don't really listen to. It makes me unique.

My favorite motown song? Has to be Lionel Ritchie's "Easy (like Sunday Morning)" song. It's really mellow. Best when listened to near dusk, just chillin'.
