    Default Led Zeppelin

Im sure Im about to get shot for saying this. But here goes nothing. I downloaded three of their songs. "Stairway To Heaven", "Moby Dick", and "Immigrant Song". I have to say. I wasn't impressed. Stairway to heaven was slower than Radio Head's "Exit Music". And I have to tell ya. I don't like slow songs that much with some exceptions (<B>EX:</B> Karma Police, Paranoid Android). Moby Dick was cool at first but then I heard it a second time and was illed by the "No Lyrics" technique. I really liked the "Immigrant Song" though. It's pretty kick ass. But my main topic is that what is a good Led Zeppelin song to download??

    Please and thanks...

I'm not much for classic rock, but I love Stairway to Heaven. It's a bit too subtle for me, but it's a thousand times better than most stuff these days, in my opinion.

Led Zepplin may not seem so great now, but they were absolutely phenominal in the 70s. Anyway, Stairway to Heaven is one of the most amazing songs known to rock. Although, it has got creepy reverse lyrics...

Stairway to Heaven is much better than everything I've heard by Radiohead. But if you can't take slow songs, download Black Dog and Rock and Roll from Led Zeppelin IV. Black Dog simply kicks all kinds of ass.

    Oh yeah
Fool in the Rain, it's repetitive, not as good as the others but I know how to play it on guitar

I've never heard the studio version of Moby Dick to be honest, but it is a drum solo you know. If lyrics are your bag best to stay away. If one of the greatest drummers of all time going nuts is your thing though, get some live versions of Moby Dick; they generally run around 20 minutes.

As for some good Zeppelin to get, here's a not so short list based on the fact that you liked Immigrant Song and found Stairway too slow ( ).

    Good Times Bad Times
    Communication Breakdown
    How Many More Times
    Whole Lotta Love
    Heartbreaker
    Bring It on Home
    Black Dog
    Rock And Roll
    Four Sticks
    Dancing Days
    The Ocean
    In the Evening
    Nobody's Fault But Mine

And if you can find a live version of Achille's Last Stand do yourself a favour and download it. The studio version wasn't bad, but the live version on the Led Zeppelin DVD was 100 times better. I had a friend who's a bigger Zep fan than I who hated the song until he saw the live version.

I really like Led Zep, but I've never been a fan of Stairway to Heaven. Ever. I, personally, think there are much better songs out there to listen to; Achilles Last Stand is awesome, as is Black Dog, Nobody's Fault But Mine, blah blah you get it. Try out some of their other stuff; 3 songs isn't very much. :D

    This is true.

Achilles Last Stand is probably my favourite Zep song. All the essentials I can think of, based on your taste, have already been listed.

And yes, Stairway to Heaven is overrated. Zeppelin as a whole, however, is not.

<i>Immigrant Song</i> is one of my favourites all around. <i>Stairway to Heaven</i> as well.

And perhaps their most underrated. I love it as well.

Suggestions I haven't seen but would probably fit your taste:
    Song Remains the Same
    Houses of the Holy
    Trampled Underfoot
    Achilles Last Stand

Achilles' Last Stand is good, but doesn't come to represent what Led Zeppelin is all about. Zeppelin I-IV (Untitled, whatever) are must-haves. Stairway to Heaven is the quintesencial 70's Rock song. I've always liked Dancing Days.

Like I said. I can't compare 3 songs to a whole CD of two way different bands... ;D
