Thats binary actually.
Its a language based on powers of two,as opposed to the powers of ten in the english system of counting.
Tis made up of bits, I believe a bit is 0000 0000, and 0000 is a nibble.
When writing in binary, a 1 means that particular digit is on, a zero means it is off.
The zero on the far right of the first nibble is one, to the left is two, then four , then eight, and so on. If you don't have enough room for your number you tack on another nibble.
0001=1
0010=2
0100=4
1000=8
By combining them, you can make any number like 73.
73=0100 1001
