I don't see how. He wasn't necessarily in combat. He could've been a medic or engineer or something. In fact, I thought he said he was an engineer.
Pssst. Combat Engineers...umm...very often, we see combat.

I could maybe understand it if you asked somebody that went over there as a contractor or something. But not a Soldier, that's just ignorant.
