Still, not all soldiers kill people- like I said, you get medics. They, in fact, do the opposite.

It's not stupid because they might not know my MOS, or the specific TF I supported, or what exactly I did. It's stupid because you just don't ask somebody that.

As much as I was fussy about this one, you're right. It is quite inconsiderate. I just wouldn't say stupid, unless somebody walks up and asks, but not from a friend. They might not think that you'll take it too badly.

That's true. Medics are just as likely to get shot (unless they were in a military hospital, although that would've made them doctors/surgeons, which may count as something else). I never said they weren't, just that they weren't as likely to have shot someone else.

True, but medics still carry weapons and engage in combat. I mean hell, our 3rd PLT medic was dual qualified, so he was an engineer AND a medic, and he was one of our M60 gunners. Medics might be less likely to engage in combat, but if their unit is confronted, they'll probably be in it like the rest of 'em until/unless somebody needs them.
