Medeski Martin and Wood in less than 5 weeks...
I'm so excited about this show but it's taking sooo long to get here. I'm
going to see them at Lupos' Heartbreak Hotel on Nov. 4th, but my friend
got tickets for me and him like 3 weeks ago. Section 1, Row A, Seats 1 & 2.
It's not going to be a particularly big show (there was no reason to order
them 10 minutes after they went on sale, but he did) so we got the first
tickets. Going to be in a balcony right above John Medeski. Oh my God,
I've been listening to a few of their shows all day (just got some new ones)
and I can't contain myself. I don't know how I'll be able to get through the
next 4 weeks and 5 days. Dammit!
Anyway, anyone else a fan? Anyone else seen them or heard any of their
live shows? I saw them at the Newport Jazz Festival a few months ago
and though I was sober (first show I'd been to sober in quite some time,
but I've been going to all shows sober since that day because...), when
they were playing I honestly felt like I was at the plateau of an acid trip.
If you ever get the chance to see them, ever, I suggest you take it.
ARRGHHH I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Check out Last Chance to Dance Trance (Perhaps), if you haven't already.

I tried to go see them last fall when they were in Atlanta but they sold out and I was sad. Then when I was in Cincinnati I found out they had played the night before I got there, but didn't sell out, and I was sad again.

LCTDT(P) is awesome, I'd say my favorites are Queen Bee, Bubblehouse,
New Planet and Chinoiserie though. ;P
If you're into them and you have bittorrent, bt.etree.org has a ton of their
shows in lossless format, and there are a few shows on nugs.net too. The
nugs shows from the Capitol Theater and the Wiltern Theater are both
awesome. Also, I'm waiting for someone to seed it, and if someone does,
I would highly suggest getting the February 22, 2005 show on etree.org.
It has the most amazing Queen Bee, the best Reflector, and the best
The Letter I've ever heard. They'll absolutely blow you away.
Also, they're playing in Atlanta on December 3rd. Definitely get to that
show, you'll be extremely pleased.

maybe I should actually buy tickets ahead of time this time.

the venue they're playing at is general admission, so in order to get up close I'll have to <s>sit</s> stand through a potentially horrible opening act, although who knows. You'd think MMW would attract a good opener. Last time they had Soulive.
