It did, at least here. The Kibbutzim did pretty well for a while... then, as the country developed, and people strived for more money, possesions and liberty, they got shut down, and turned into normal places to live in.Communism does have some potential. It won't work well in a large country, but in small communities, it might.
Also, in Communism, it doesn't matter WHAT you work in - everyone gets paid the same, or don't get paid at all. The government takes care of everyone equally.
