That whole "trying to explain your actions" thing is probably a big part of your problem. Pick one person on staff to be the cranky, seemingly ban-hungry ogre, and have him or her take care of all that. I don't know how you can get along without one.

Bitterness is not a new feature by any means.
Not only that but half the Mods would go Ka boom as well...and it would only last for two weeks in this forum only.

banned from just this forum or temp-banned from EoFF as a whole? or punished with usernote bans? not that I'm fearing obtaining any of these bans, since I post like once a day.

But I don't think it unreasonable to have to gather evidence before banning, it's the only way we can have anything close to a fair forum.
I don't mind doing the banning because most people think I'm a big joke, so by the time they figure out I've banned them I will be laughing all the way home.
Now you're talkin'. Staff is missing both the scapegoat for amusing antics and the scapegoat for bannings, and it shows. Sadness.
Back in the day both of those positions were filled by Bleys and look what happened there.
